Sad news here at Fleur de Lis

Yesterday, our gerbil, Pinky, passed away. I had been noticing a weight loss over the past 2 weeks. The last week, she had become very sluggish and lethargic. I believe that old age finally caught up to her. She showed no symptoms of anything else being wrong. She was the heart of Fleur de Lis. She was our first breeding female. Pinky is survived here at Fleur de Lis by her sons, Jinx and Scamp, her grandson, Tibs, and her mate, Jasper. Jasper is now living with their son, Scamp, who I will get pictures up of very soon.

I will miss her adorable little face looking up at me every evening when I would come home from work. She knew to expect a treat as soon as she heard me walk in, and she was never waiting patiently! She was definitely my most cranky gerbil at times. She was very particular and liked having every thing a certain way. She did not like me to move anything in her tank at all. She would get so aggravated at me! She will truly be missed by everyone here at Fleur de Lis and we know that there will never be another little monster who will take her place in our hearts.

Update On Available Pups

I only have 1 Solid Red-eyed Honey male, 1 Solid Lilac male, 1 Solid Red-eyed Honey female, and 1 Mottled Dark-eyed Honey female left out of Rosa and Jinx, and Milo and Bella's current litters. The other 6 are going to great forever homes tomorrow! Please email me now to adopt these remaining cuties just in time for Christmas! Also, Pinky and Jasper's pups will be available the first week in January. One of the male Pied Agouti pups will be staying here at Fleur de Lis to be a companion for Jasper and one of the female Pied Argente pups will stay to be a companion for Pinky in her retirement. There will still be five up for adoption.

New pictures of pups are up!

Please check out my "Available" page for current pictures of Pinky and Jasper's pups! They are now 4 weeks and 3 days old. Pinky will only be having one more litter of pups and then I will be retiring her and Jasper. Pinky will live out her life with one of her daughters from her next litter, and Jasper will enjoy his retirement here at Fleur de Lis with one of his sons from the next litter. I will miss the energetic and friendly pups that they produce, but I am looking forward to what possible breeding pair I will choose to take their place.

Pinky and Jasper's pups

Pinky and Jasper's pups have their eyes open now and are starting to explore the tank. They will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. One of the little solid Agouti pups came out last night and was running and popcorning all over the tank. I couldn't resist scooping it up and taking a quick picture of he/she. I can't wait until I clean their tank out this weekend so I can get a good look at all of them and more pictures while Pinky and Jasper enjoy their sand bath. Here's one of the pictures I got of the little cutie last night!
