Update on Milo and Bella's Pups

Milo and Bella's pups are growing like weeds. They are now 4 weeks and 2 days old. I will be separating them into their own tanks (boys in one, girls in another) in about another week or so. These are such friendly little pups. When I stick my hand in their tank to feed them or give them treats, they all run up and start climbing all over my hand and up my arm, wanting me to play with them. They are by far the sweetest litter I've had to date. Below are a couple of pictures I snapped of them after they had settled down a little.

*Just a reminder, these pups will be ready to go to their forever homes around 12/17/2011. Please email me to reserve your pups now.

2 New Members at Fleur de Lis!

This weekend, I drove to Lafayette to meet someone from a Rescue Center in Houma, LA to pick up 2 beautiful Burmese colored Gerbils. Right now I have them seperated. After the Thanksgiving holiday, I will be fixing a 20 gallon tank with a mesh divider in the middle to put them both in. I don't want them to breed right now, but don't want them to get lonely. I may breed them at some point, after I retire one of my other pairs. At that time, I will remove the divider. Now, please meet the newest members of my clan, Abby and McGee! Abby is 7 months old and McGee is 5 months old.

First Pictures of Pinky and Jasper's pups

This weekend I checked on Pinky and Jasper's pups and they are getting the first of their little fuzz in so you can see what colors they are. They had 7 pups. I can definitely see some spotted Agouti and Argente. I can't tell right now if they had any Red-eyed Honeys or Dark-eyed Honeys. I will be cleaning their tank out in 2 weeks, so I will get better pictures of them then. All the pups are looking very good!

Last night's wonderful surprise

When I got home from work last night, I saw movement in Jinx and Rosa's tank out of the corner of my eye. I walked over to look, and all of the pups were up out of the burrow and crawling around! One little pup had only one eye open. The rest were running around blindly. They are so quick to be so tiny lol. Here are a couple of pics that I snapped of them running around together. Now if I could just get Bella to let hers run around! Every time her's start coming out, she gathers them back in.

Update on Pinky's pups

I got a good look at their pups last night. Turns out, she has had 7!! They were born on 11/11/11 so they should be ready to find their forever homes around 01/06/2012. They will mostly be spotted and solid Agoutis and Argente Goldens, but there may be some Red-eyed Honeys or Dark-eyed Honeys, too. Pinky and Jasper are my friendliest gerbils. Their pups are always very active and inquisitive. I will get pictures of them up on my "Available" page when they start showing their colors, which will probably be in about 2 weeks.

Pinky and Jasper's 2nd litter has arrived!

Friday evening when I got home from work, I made my usual rounds checking on all my gerbils. I always get to Pinky and Jasper's tank first. I leaned over to call for them when I heard the teeny, tiny squeaks. Looks like Pinky and Jasper had their second litter sometime during the day Friday. They definitely were not there when I checked on all of them Friday morning. She had them down in a burrow in a box, so no pics yet. Sunday, I checked on them and could see two cute little pink pups. I don't know if there are more than two yet. She may have them seperated into 2 nests right now. The two that I could see, one is definitly going to be an Agouti like mom and the other one is going to be an Argente Golden. In about 2 weeks, I will have to clean the tank out and will post some pics of the pups!

**Also, please check my "Available" page for pictures of Jinx and Rosa's first litter. I cannot determine the sex until they are around 4-5 weeks old, but if you see a color you like, let me know and I will put you on a tentative reserve for it and another one of the same sex when I am able to identify them.

Pictures

Thanks to a water bottle leak Sunday, I had to clean out Milo and Bella's tank, which gave me the opportunity to snap a pic of their 6 pups. Below is the group shot I got of them before I placed them back in the tank with mom and dad. They were 8 days old in this shot. Won't be long and they'll be crawling all over the tank!

I also snapped a quick picture of 3 of Jinx and Rosa's pups yesterday. They were rearranging some of their tunnels, and kicked these three out of their nesting burrow. When I woke up this morning, Rosa had moved the other 3 pups out to where these 3 were, but she was nursing them so I was unable to get a picture of all of them. Their pups are 6 days old today. They are not showing any coloring yet other than the color points on the ears, nose, feet, and tail. I am really hoping to see some Nutmegs and Red Foxes from Jinx and Rosa along with the Dark-eyed Honeys and Red-eyed Honeys that I know she will have.

Update on pups

Milo and Bella's pups are 7 days old today and starting to crawl around a little. This morning, 4 of them followed Bella out of their nesting burrow so I was finally able to snap a couple of pics of them before she gathered them back into the nest. They are starting to get their fur and are looking very adorable!

Also, Pinky is very pudgy this morning. She should be having her pups any day now! By the size of her, I'm guessing she is going to be having more than three this time for sure.

Being a first time mom, I was expecting Rosa to move hers and Jinx's pups from where she orginally had them, and I was right. She has moved them into an inner burrow, so I am not able to see them right now to take more pictures. It won't be long and they'll be crawling around like Bella's, so I should get some more pictures of them soon.

Another arrival!

Jinx's mate, Rosa, had been looking a little pudgy these last couple of days. I have been checking on her every morning before I leave the house because I knew it would be any day now. I woke up this morning and walked over to their tank to check on her and I was just in time to see her deliver the last little pup! She had five pink, squirmy little pups. I am so excited! These next few days are going to go by so slow because I can't wait to see what colors her and Jinx have. This is their first litter together. Unlike Bella, Rosa had hers in a spot where I will be able to see and keep track of them, so I will try to post pictures along the way. Below is the picture I took this morning right after she cleaned up the last pup.
